MINDFULNESS COURSES
I offer various courses based on the needs of the group or individual. They range from a 6 week modified course that meets weekly for an hour as well as an 8 week course that is more intensive with 2-hour weekly classes. Both provide guided instructions in basic mindfulness meditations which include body scans, sitting meditations and walking meditations. The 8 week course includes some gentle yoga movements.
Group dialogue and discussions encourage understanding of the importance of patience and kindness toward ourselves as we get to know the workings of our mind. We begin to see how easily our mind can derail us from living in the present. We learn that with practice we can live our lives with a deep sense of ease and well-being even through the difficulties that we will all face.
To reap the maximum benefits from this mindfulness training, participants are asked to commit to a daily practice of meditation with specific assignments given each week.
I also offer presentations and workshops on mindfulness and will work with individuals interested in learning these skills to live their lives with more intention, meaning and joy.
